Platform10 was delighted to host the Brisbane Biological Symposium with CSIRO on Monday 17 February 2025.
The Symposium program was designed to attract key stakeholders, including influential growers, researchers, regulators, agritech companies and investors who take an active interest in the ag biologicals space. The Symposium secured leading international experts who shared their insights into this rapidly developing area of ag inputs. As regulators and consumers around the world call for ‘less chemicals, more biologicals’, biologicals are now the fastest growing segment of commercial agriculture. Analysts predict the biologicals market will reach US$25 Billion by 2030.
Australian & New Zealand researchers & commercial companies are developing and delivering ground-breaking biological solutions to growers. The Symposium heard from a number of these as we explored the opportunity to accelerate collaboration and partnerships across borders. Delegates heard more about the Platform10 initiative and how key public and private sector stakeholders could engage within the ANZ region.
The Symposium was delighted to be joined by Platform10 co-founders, Peter Wren-Hilton, Founder of Wharf42, Dennis Donohue, Director, Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology and Dr. Jeana Cadby, Western Growers Director, Environment & Climate, from California. Other members of the Platform10 Advisory Board joined the Symposium in Brisbane including Dr Adrian Percy, inaugural Executive Director of the NC Plant Sciences Initiative (NC PSI) at North Carolina State University, who delivered the keynote speech.
The Symposium Steering Committee developed a content-rich agenda which focuses on some key themes:
- Policy & Adoption
- Research, Development & Deployment
